Seasons greetings, Creative Circle members.

I hope this final news of the year finds you relatively well as we drag ourselves over the 2014 finish line. Looking back at the year’s objectives, I feel we’ve laid the groundwork in terms of building the Creative Circle brand, positioning creativity as a business tool and closing the gap between marketers and creatives. Securing Coca-Cola as our official sponsor was crucial to this vision and we’ll be nurturing this relationship further in 2015 as we look to highlight the difference creativity can make to a business’s bottom line. Look out for our new Creative Circle website in January where you’ll be able to read about our Champions Of Creativity initiative that highlights marketers and their case studies for creativity, as well as our Creative Circle Better Practice toolkit with practical advice from thought leaders in the Pitch, Production, Strategy and Research processes. We’re also working on functionality that will see Creative Circle members able to upload their work for CC Awards Of The Month, much the same way we do for The Loerie Awards.

I’m proud to announce our new Exco for 2015 with new additions Mariana O’ Kelly, Fran Luckin and Jason Xenopolous. Jason will be taking over from Jarred Cinnamon in his capacity as IAB representative and I’d like to thank Jarred for his invaluable input over the last two years.

At our final Exco meeting, we made the call to drop The Clio Awards as an officially endorsed Creative Circle award show as we already endorse an American award show, The One Show. This doesn’t mean you can’t enter The Clio Awards – or any other awards for that matter – it just means you won’t receive Creative Circle points for any wins. The officially endorsed Creative Circle Award shows are now Cannes, The One Show, D&AD, The Loeries and the Creative Circle Yearly Awards.

2015 will see the introduction of the Integrated category in CC Award Of The Month. Integrated will follow the same format as Digital and Experiential in that it will be judged every three months and Arlene will be sending out the monthly entry deadlines shortly.

Finally, I’d like to thank all CC members for the support I’ve been shown in my first year as Chairperson, particularly our evergreen General Manager, Arlene Donenberg, and our intrepid media partner, Julie Maunder. We’ve achieved much in a year and I’m hoping 2015 will see the Creative Circle go from strength to strength.

Happy holidays,

Justin Gomes.
Creative Circle Chairperson.
